HEAR AND LEARN

John 6:45: It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.”

There’s only one way to know anything about a particular subject; find the written source about it, read and study it until one has acquired sufficient knowledge, whereby one can say, “I know because I have heard and learned from the source.

Most people, at some point during their lifetime I’m sure, must think about Heaven and hope it will be their destination when they pass on into eternity; that may be their wish, but no one ever wished their way to heaven; if a wish is all they had, then most assuredly their wishful souls are not where they had hoped they’d be.

There are many deceptive ways and opinions invented by men and the influential lies of the devil which offers pseudo ways to heaven, and certainly there are many people in hell who have trusted in one of those other ways, to the detriment of their souls.

Wishful thinking or any other idea which a man may imagine will not save his soul from hell; and no matter how he may rearrange or interpret the Word of God, it won’t change his eternal destination; the only thing that can do that is the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit, initiated by God, the Father.

Salvation is not a do-it-yourself proposition; it is not by the will of man, but by the will of God that a man is saved from the wrath of come. The commandment says to a man, “repent and believe in the gospel,” repentance precedes the learning and believing.

“The gospel finds none willing to be saved in the humbling, holy manner, made known therein; but God draws with his word and the Holy Ghost; and man’s duty is to hear and learn; that is to say, to receive the grace offered, and consent to the promise,” Matthew Henry.

It’s a tragedy to think of how many have lost their souls merely because they were not willing to hear the gospel whereby they could have learned how to save their lives; while it is still called today, it’s not too late to hear and learn.

Acts 3:19: “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out…”
