Proverb 31:12 "She does him good, and not harm, all
the days of her life."
A husband that is being treated right by his wife will
prosper. Unfortunately, women this does not mean prosper in money or fame or status in this world, but prosper in the Lord.
A wife whether she admits it to herself or not...has
a grave responsibility towards her husband.
If she is using him to her advantage - a husband loses
heart - he will even join forces with an enemy in order to please his wife if he cares for her at all.
Many men will naturally forsake everyone else for his
wife and her opinions - or for the style in which she wants to live. Some husbands do this to 'keep the peace' in the
family...some do it because they are blind to the fact that she has not his welfare at heart, but her own. I ask...is this
'doing him good all the days of her life'? To this I say a resounding - NO. This is doing him the greatest harm - she is literally
ruining his life to maintain her own at any cost..
He never becomes the man he was suppose to be for God
~
I have known men that would get tears in their eyes
speaking about a mission field they would have dearly loved to be on or a ministry they would love to have...but the wife
had other ideas.
Not blatant destructive ideas, but ideas that did not
include following God's plans. So, the husband makes excuses to himself that he is on this earth to please, nourish and make
a living for the wife and he is left with scraps of his life laying around.....and the day dawns when he realizes his life
has passed him by and he is full of regrets.
A woman on the other hand that is supportive of her
husband - does not have to have things her way constantly...but prays for God's will to be done....constantly. She does her
husband good by not demanding the things of this world....although she is suppose to be a Christian herself.
I write this because I have lived long enough to see
this play out in many marriages. The wife is not willing to take her place in the marriage and therefore does the marriage
and her husband harm instead of good all the days of her life.
My prayer is that God opens the eyes of the women that
are not what they should be in a marriage....I should say a Christian marriage...We are to be helpmates, not be the captain
of the ship.
