A WAYWARD FRIEND
O wayward friend, whose way was true;
For whom my
heart does mourn today.
It’s not a mystery to none but you;
Tis sin that carried your soul away.
The truth from you is sadly hidden;
You neither see
blemish nor spot,
For me, the truth I’m clearly seeing,
But friend I know that you cannot.
The devil’s door has been left open;
In darkness
now, you walk my friend.
You cannot see where you are going;
You’ve been seduced by deceitful sin.
You cannot serve both good and evil;
One of them
now, you must let go.
Choose, my friend, and choose most, wisely,
For death is bidding for your soul.
My wayward friend, for you I’m praying;
From
me, you have my heart’s concern.
I know, that God, to you is calling,
“Come, wayward friend, to Me return.”
