THE SHUT IN
Just Thinking
“For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” (Matthew 24:38-39).
The end of time is at hand, but no one is listening; no one believes it. Anyone who proclaims such a thing is ostracized by the general consent of the world at large, and particularly by denominational professing believers. To make such a declaration is astounding and almost unbelievable, since these professors of the faith have access to the same Bible that speaks of the very thing they deny. Unbelief does not change the truth, but it most definitely changes the heart. The truth remains, the end is nigh, and it’s closer than most professing Christians are willing to believe.
It was the same in the days of Noah; no one believed him. He preached for one hundred twenty years that God was going to destroy mankind by a flood, but no one believed him. The unbelievers watched the ark being built, but still no one changed the minds about Noah. When the ark was finished, God told Noah to go into the ark for after seven days He was going to bring the waters upon the earth to destroy all mankind. For seven days the unbelievers watched as Noah brought the animals, food, and all of his family into the ark, but no one else tried to go into the ark.
No one believed Noah! Right up to the very moment that God shut the door of the ark and the rain began to fall, they scoffed and mocked him. God shut righteous Noah in ark, but the unrighteous unbelievers, He shut outside. They refused to believe until the waters of the flood came upon the earth and took them all away.
The end is nigh at hand! The end came suddenly to those in Noah’s day; the door of the ark was shut by God, sealing their doom; damning their souls to hell. So the coming of Jesus will seal the doom of those that do not believe. When the last trumpet sounds it’s over, there will be no more opportunity for those who are alive and remain to be saved from the wrath of God, for the last trumpet signifies the end of time.
“And the seventh poured out his bowl upon the air; and there came forth a great voice out of the temple, from the throne, saying, It is done:” Revelation” (16:17).
